Sometimes, some tracks finds you at the right time & hit you harder than others. Not just because they’re louder, not because the drops are filthier, nor because of the music, but because of the strange and beautiful coincidences & because they carry something you didn’t expect: a memory you forgot, a ghost you weren’t ready to face... When Theo — aka ROI OS — reached out to share the upcoming release of “Loren (The Remixes)”, I thought I was diving into another emotional project from a producer I already deeply respect, but I definitly didn’t expect to cry. Nothing could’ve prepared me for what this EP would awaken. Did I expect that our discussion would reveal a deeply personal connection? Absolutely not.

Loren, the original track’s namesake and emotional core, is someone I once knew — An old friend. Memories I had carefully locked away rushed back the moment the melodies started pouring in. And I wept. More than once. Maybe too much. Maybe not enough. A felt like a gentle slap from the past asking, “Why did you leave without a word?” With this context, everything changed. I already loved the original version of Loren, but revisiting it, and then diving into this remix project, brought something much deeper. Each track became a conversation — with the past, with grief, with celebration, with memory. This is the spirit of DYSLOCKED — a new portal through which I explore early, unreleased projects, not as a journalist, but as someone who feels. Someone who connects the dots between music and memory. Let me take you through this journey.

The Remixes, One by One:

🔹 Slaine OP Dark, mental, meditative. UK producer Slaine OP drops us into a shadowy dimension. I felt like I’d taken hallucinogens (I haven’t) and landed inside a soft, surreal cloud — think Kinder Maxi ad but emotionally charged. An airy and hypnotic, haunting and meditative trip that rewires your heartbeat.

🔹 Bizo — Unexpected, sensual, masterful.

Bizo — usually known for his raw dubstep — flips the script with a gentler cut that still goes hard. 3 minutes and 54 seconds of pure bassface. If I had a clit buried somewhere in my ears, this man would’ve found it. He understood the assignment. Gave a full-on soundgasm. It’s that serious.

🔹 Nautical Divine — Textured garage, layered emotion.

Nautical Divine delivers a lush, textured UKG rework from across the Atlantic. I was skeptical at first — how can so many remixes of one track stay fresh? Third remix in, and I was still surprised. Still vibing. Still dancing. Garage, but smart. Punchy. Delicate. This one tingled in all the right places. (Yes, I may need to stop with the double entendres... or not???)

🔹 oYYo  — Liquid DnB with heart. I’m not a liquid girl, usually. But oYYo’s Liquid DnB rework completely disarmed me. And yet, this made me want to grab my partner, lie in the grass, and watch clouds change shape while this track played in the background. Pure serotonin. Gentle, dreamy, and full of heart.

🔹Redstain — UKG banger.

Second garage remix and second slap in the face &  second time I couldn’t sit still. The drop and break are way too tasty. You just can’t not dance. Impossible to resist.

🔹 R3ST — Full-throttle DnB energy.

I had high expectations for this one and they fucking delivered. This DnB trio from Paris came in loud with an energy bomb that makes mixing it tonight both a privilege and a puzzle. Major respect. This one needs to be in more sets. It's going straight into my future one. No idea how I’ll make it blend, but I will. We should be putting some respect on this trio’s name.

🔹 ROI OS VIP — Raw, personal, haunting.

Theo’s own rework of Loren closes the EP with grace. The vocal intro destroyed me & hit differently when you know the story.. It feels like the track is holding your face and saying “listen, this is my story.” And when you know that story, everything changes. It’s intimate, vulnerable, and achingly beautiful. Just like when I first heard “Story’s Left Untold” by my friend The Clamps — this one hits that deep, private nerve. DYSLOCKED is all about moments like these — when an unreleased project opens a door not just into sound, but into the artist’s world, and sometimes... into your own past. Loren (The Remixes) is out now on SoundCloud and all platforms next week. Don’t wait. Don’t just listen — feel this EP. It might just reconnect you with someone — or some part of yourself — you’d left behind. Not Lacey this time, but definitly Joy.
